A CHARTER ORDINANCE REPEALING AND AMENDING SECTION 2 OF CHARTER ORDINANCE NO. 7 AS PASSED AND ADOPTED ON THE 17TH DAY OF OCTOBER 2016, DELETING THE SECOND SENTENCE, “The term of such officers shall begin the second Monday in January following certification of even year elections”, WHICH IS IN CONTRADICTION TO CHARTER ORDINANCE 8, SECTION 2.

NOW, THEREFORE, be it ordained by the governing body of the City of Benton, Kansas:

Section 1: REPEALED SECTION

That Section 2, second sentence, “The term of such officers shall begin the second Monday in January following certification of even year elections”, of Charter Ordinance No. 7 as passed and adopted on the 17th day of October 2016, is hereby repealed.

Section 2: TERMS OF OFFICE; COMMENCEMENT OF TERMS OF OFFICE

As stated in Charter Ordinance 8, Section 2.
